Vučić and Brnabić with the Danish MFA J. Kofod

DENMARK'S SUPPORT FOR REFORMS, EUROPEAN INTEGRATION

President Vučić pointed out that "Serbia can learn a lot from Denmark, especially in areas crucial for European integration." He thanked Denmark for its continuous support to Serbia in the negotiation process for the European Union membership and stated that reforms in the area of the rule of law are being implemented very seriously.

President Vučić expressed hope that the existing good indicators of the state of Serbian economy will contribute to the greater interest of Danish companies in investments because their arrival would mean a lot for the development of entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic in our country.

On this occasion, Minister Kofod praised the impressive growth of the Serbian economy and pointed out the great opportunities for deepening economic cooperation, but also the ties in other areas such as culture and education.

The Danish head of diplomacy also reiterated his support for Serbia's European path.

President Vučić and Minister Kofod also discussed current global challenges and the situation in the Western Balkans region. President Vučić emphasised the need to preserve peace and stability, and Minister Kofod welcomed the Open Balkan initiative, given the tradition of regional cooperation between the Scandinavian countries.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic assessed in a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark Jeppe Kofod, that this country's support for European integration is extremely important for Serbia and is based on the same principled position, is the key to reforms in building a better society and improving the lives of citizens, and only then in the accession process itself.

Speaking about the area of rule of law and judicial reform, as one of the basic requirements in the accession process, Brnabic presented the results that the government of Serbia has achieved in these areas in the previous period.

The opening of the planned clusters at the end of the year, as she assessed, would be an unequivocal confirmation of the progress in this important area and a signal to Serbia to progress in the process of joining the Union.

The head of Danish diplomacy conveyed strong support for the implementation of reforms and the integration of Serbia into the European Union, as well as the intensification of political relations and dialogue with our country.

He praised Serbia's efforts to improve regional cooperation, especially through the Open Balkans initiative, which will bring benefits to signatory countries and its citizens.

Kofod assessed the economic relations between the two countries as intensive and dynamic and expressed confidence that the interest of Danish investors in Serbia will grow, especially in the field of green economy, which, as he stated, is a fundamental issue and a great development opportunity for Serbia.

Citing the example of the Danish company Grundfos, which employs over a thousand workers and develops its business in Indjija, the Prime Minister pointed out that Serbia is an open and stable market for all who want to invest and create new jobs, and that many foreign companies recognise that.

The officials expressed confidence that the political dialogue and visits of officials at the highest level will contribute to more intensive cooperation and partnership in other areas in the interest of our countries.
